27th Annual Eastern Conference 2011
October 14 and 15, 2011 Marymount University, Arlington, Virginia
Great Conference, Capital Location
The CCSC Eastern Conference 2011 is designed to promote the exchange of information among all educators in the computing science career pipeline (graduate, undergraduate, community college and K-12).
We are all concerned with computing as an area of STEM education and in the increasingly important area of innovation as discussed in President Obama's recent State of the Union speech.
The conference provides an affordable regional forum for the exchange of ideas and information concerning computer science and computing curricula.
The conference includes
field trips, scholarly papers, presentations, workshops, and panels of
computing educators.
Please come and share your expertise and experience in teaching innovative
technology topics that attract and retain students in computer science.
We particularly welcome young professionals and their new ideas.
Our focus will be Computing in the 21st Century. The conference will take advantage of its presence in the Washington DC area and emphasize the responsibility of CS/IT educators/scholars to take on great, emerging social questions and incorporate them in their curricula. There will be pre- and post-conference workshops, guest speakers, field trips, tutorials, panels, lightning talks, and many sessions for papers. Two exciting activities are planned for students, a poster session and a hands-on competition, both awarding prizes.
